On changes of the atmospheric circulation after the entering of the Earth into a solar corpuscular stream

Description

On the basis of an analysis of daily maps which give the distribution of the surface atmospheric pressure over the northern hemisphere of the Earth for the period of 1890-1974 the changes of the atmospheric pressure after the strong and comparatively isolated geomagnetic storms are studied. It is found that the maximum increase of tropospheric instability takes place over the oceans in the regions of the greatest temperature gradients. It is concluded also that the entering of the Earth into a solar corpuscular stream is accompanied by certain changes of atmospheric circulation, namely by a noticable pressure drop in the regions of Iceland and Aleutian depressions and practically simultaneously by a pressure increase over Europe and Alaska. All the effects are manifested clear in a cold period of an year and especially at cases when the corpuscular stream doesn't accompany by the other one near to it
