Description
Currently, it has been developed by researchers an idea of using nanofluids as an alternative coolant, instead of water. The results showed that nanofluids very well be used as a heat transfer medium. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the properties characteristic of water-ZrO2 nanofluids in forced convection flow. The experimental data obtained in experiments are used to determine the heat transfer coefficient from the heater to the cooling fluid. The results of this study have also been compared with the results of studies using the fluid-basic or pure water as the working fluid The results show that water-ZrO2 nanofluids with a concentration of 0.10 % in weight percent, has a heat transfer coefficient of 20 % greater than the coefficient of heat transfer using pure-water as a coolant.
