The investigation of Fe concentration in soil

  • 1. Institute of Physics, Vilnius (Lithuania)

Description

The concentrations of iron and cesium of the upper layer soil samples which, were taken in Neringa, were investigated. The obtained results were compared with the corresponding characteristics of the samples which were taken from districts of Panevezhys and Raseiniai as well as from Belarus. The correlation between the concentration of iron and 137 Cs radionuclide was obtained. It shows that particles of iron oxides deposited on the soil layer can be the product of the Chernobyl accident pollution transfer. (author)
