Description

In course of 2003-2005 on the territory of the National Park Pripyatski in the Republic of Belarus there were obtained 38 animal units of wild boar and there was realized the radiological monitoring of tissues and organs (heart, lungs, spleen, kidneys, liver, muscles, hair, large intestine, testicles, embryo, bones) contamination with 137Cs. Research results showed that in the conditions of minor 137Cs contamination (37 kBk/m2) in organs and tissues of studied animals there were noted rather high levels of the radionuclide. The average specific activity of 137Cs in course of the last 10-15 years has lowered considerably (in 2,7-8,2 times) and has been at the level of 548-152 kBk/kg. In case of 180 Bq/kg the meat of 18 out of 38 studied animals (37%) was admissible for food consumption. Out of all studied internals it was admissible to use in human nutrition the following organs: liver (in 35% of cases), lungs (in 55% of cases), kidneys (in 46% of cases), heart (in 47% of cases). There were revealed no substantial differences in male and female boars contamination. The tendency of 137Cs higher accumulation with the increase of boar age was noted
