Heterogenous iodination of α-cellulose: preparation of a radioactive analog of dietary fiber
Description
α-Cellulose has been iodinated by a method which yields a chemically stable iodinated cellulose of high specific activity. The preparation and chemical stability of the derivative are described, together with potential application as a tracer for the study of digestion and as an imaging agent in the digestive tract.
