Bound states of branes
Description
We discuss the dualities between various superstring theories and show that the bound states of extended solitonic objects (branes) play a crucial role in providing non-trivial checks on the idea of duality. In particular we discuss the formation of bound states of p- and (p + 2)- Dirichlet branes via condensation of tachyonic modes. (author)
