Status and application of the EMC3/EIRENE code

  • 1. Max-Planck-Institut fuer Plasmaphysik, Garching (Germany)

Description

The EMC3 code is benchmarked with the B2 code, based on identical fluid equations for a single-ion plasma in a simplified 2D slab model. On the other hand, application to the W7-AS island divertor continues. We present the recent simulation results and compare them with those from the two-point model. The effects of cross-field transport on particle, energy and momentum balance in the islands are discussed. (orig.)
