Experimental study of stochastic plasma heating by regular waves of critical waveguide

  • 1. National Scientific Center 'Kharkov Institute of Physics and Technology', Akademicheskaya 1, 310108 Kharkov (Ukraine)

Description

The results of the experimental investigations of plasma electron heating during the development of a stochastic instability of the charged particle motion in the field of electromagnetic wave and an external constant homogeneous magnetic field are presented. A stochastic instability if the charged particle motion develops when nonlinear electron-cyclotron resonances of the cylindrical cavity proper modes overlap one another. This method of plasma heating has been theoretically investigated in the Kharkov Institut of Physics and Technology
