Development of pulsed type hysteresis loop tracer for the characterization of high energy permanent magnets

  • 1. Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore (India)

Description

High-energy permanent magnets are required for biasing of indigenous ferrite circulator development at 505 MHz and 650 MHz for RF system of Indus Accelerators at RRCAT. Demagnetization curve (normal and intrinsic) of permanent magnets are important for tuning of ferrite circulator for below resonance operation at high power. To meet this crucial requirement, we have designed and developed Pulse-Type Hysteresis Loop Tracer (5 Tesla) for characterization of high energy permanent magnets (NdFeB and Sm-Co magnets) and hard ferrite magnets) which are used for biasing of ferrite circulator. This paper describes design, development of 5 Tesla magnetizing system and measured demagnetization curves of NdFeB and Strontium ferrite magnets
