The dissolution of UO2-Mg fuel elements with Al cladding

Description
The Al cladding is dissolved in a mixture of NaOH-NaNO3 solution. After decladding, the UO2-Mg fuel core is dissolved in HNO3 solution. The effects of HNO3 concentration and temperature on the dissolution rate are investigated. The peak values of the hydrogen gas evolution during the dissolution process are determined
