Magnetic properties of intermetallic compounds with structure of the ScFe6Ga6 type in the (Sc, Zr, Hf)-Fe-Ga system

Description
Temperature and composition dependences of magnetic characteristics of intermetallic compound with structure of the ScFe6Ga6 type are studied in the (Sc, Zr, Hf)-Fe-Ga ternary systems. Magnetic properties (saturation magnetization σsub(s), coercive force Hsub(c), residual induction) are measured using the ballistic method in the maximum field of 8x105 A/m. The character of σsub(s) variation with temperature testifies on a ferrimagnetic interaction in studied intermetallic compounds. Temperatures of ferrimagnetic phase compensation are defined. Analysis of calculated interatomic distances in the ScFe6Ga6 compound structure allows one to make an assumption, that different magnetic moments are localized on Fe atoms, being in different positions
