Description
If Aμ is a vector field satisfying dμAν - dνAμ = O can one find a scalar field PHI such that Aμ = dμPHI. A novel quantum analogue of this classical problem incorporating locality is introduced and is shown to generate those superselection sectors whose charge can be strictly localized. In a 2-dimensional space-time there are further possibilities; in particular, soliton sectors can be generated by this procedure. (orig.)

Wenn Aμ ein Vektorfeld ist, das der Gleichung dμAν - dνAμ = O genuegt, kann man dann ein skalares Feld PHI finden, so dass Aμ = dμPHI ist. Ein neuartiges Quantenanalogon zu diesem klassichen Problem wird einschliesslich Lokalitaet eingefuehrt und gezeigt, dass superselektive Sektoren, deren Ladung streng lokalisiert werden kann, erzeugt werden. In einer 2-dimensionalen Raum-Zeit bestehen weitere Moeglichkeiten; insbesondere koennen durch eine solche Prozedur Solitonen-Sektoren erzeugt werden. (orig.)Additional details
