Improvement in the compressibility of uranium dioxide powders by surface composition modifications
Description
Adherent compounds of formula UO3, 2H2O are formed on UO2 powder surface by exposition to atmosphere for a long time. These compounds improve the raw material behaviour during its compaction into pellets, the strength of these green pellets, and finally the sintered pellets quality. 7 refs
