Electron impact excitation of multiply charged ions via autoionisation states with inner-shell vacancy
Description
The electron impact excitation of multiply charged ions via autoionisation states with an inner-shell vacancy is discussed. Calculations of the excitation rate constants are performed for the process Fe15+(2p6,3s) + e → Fe14+(2p5, 3s, 3d, nl) → Fe15+(2p6, nl) + e where n = 4. The contribution of the resonance excitation to the total excitation rate constants is approximately 10% in the case of the corona equilibrium. (author)
