Release factors of radioiodine during its chemical processing

Description
Fractional rate of release of radioiodine from production plant in Rad. Labs., BARC into the laboratory environment at different stages of chemical processing was evaluated by airborne activity measurements. Thyroid uptake and doses were estimated based on ICRP dosimetric model. From monitoring data, it reveals that very negligible fraction of 131I(10-11) activity is released during its processing and it has negligible impact on thyroid uptake. (author)
