Irradiation Testing in the Jülich Research Reactor DiDO
Description
Automatic translation: The qualification of HTR fuel elements is based on the quality control of particles and fuel elements during and after production, - the irradiation test under operating and transient conditions - and testing of irradiated fuel assemblies under accident conditions. The KFA Jülich has so far had a large number of ''screening'' and reference tests carried out. However, the focus now is on two types of radiation experiments: - Fission product transport experiments to obtain data for design and safety considerations. - Reference tests on whole fuel assemblies to demonstrate the low release of fission products.

Die Qualifizierung von HTR-Brennelementen basiert auf der Qualitätskontrole- von Partikeln und Brennelementen während und nach der Fertigung, - der Bestrahlungserprobung unter Betriebs- und Transientenbedingungen - sowie Prüfung bestrahlter Brennelemente unter Störfallbedingungen. Die KFA Jülich hat bisher eine Vielzahl von ''Screening''- und Referenz-Tests durchgeführt. Inzwischen jedoch konzentriert man sich auf zwei Arten von Bestrahlungsexperimenten: - Spaltprodukttransportexperimente zur Gewinnung von Daten für Auslegung und Sicherheitsbetrachtungen. - Referenztests an ganzen Brennelementen, um die niedrige Spaltproduktfreisetzung zu demonstrieren.Additional details
