Description
A Mica Microfilter Cascade Fractionator (MMCF) with mica filters of different hole sizes is applied in aerosol research and in pollution control investigations of environmental air near a working place at an industrial plant producing nuclear reactor fuel elements. The loaded filters allow the determination of the total mass load of air, the specific alpha-activity of air, the aerosol size distribution, size, shape, and chemical composition of individual aerosol particles (using SEM and attached dispersive x-ray microanalysis system).
