High-temperature oxidation of Ti-Nb alloys
Description
Air oxidation of titanium of 0.7-8.1 mas% Nb at 700-1200 deg C was investigated using methods of precision weighing, micrography, microbardness measurement, electron- and X-ray diffraction analysis and inert tracers. Activation energy and other pecularities of oxidation, oxygen solution in metal, sinter phase composition and properties and relative role of titanium and oxygen diffusion in its formation are established
