Propagation of Langmuir waves in an inhomogeneous plasma
Description
The integral equation for Langmuir wave propagation excited by both localized antennae and sinusoidal beat waves is solved for an inhomogeneous plasma with constant density gradient. Comparison of the kinetic and fluid solutions shows clearly the effects of spatial Landau damping in the kinetic case
