Experimental profiles of hydrogen balmer α line emitted in weakly non-ideal plasmas

  • 1. Laboratoire des Plasmas Denses Universite Paris 6, casier 90, 4 place Jussieu, 75252 Paris Cedex 05 (France)

Description

High density plasmas are produced in a special flashtube allowing variable filling up of a mixture of argon and hydrogen. On axis plasma parameters are in the range 1-2.1018 cm-3 for the electron density and 1.7-2.1.104 K for the temperature. In those conditions, the FWHM of the Balmer Hα line are measured and compared with theoretical and other experimental values
