Investigation of corrosion resistance of metal in a gap of connecting pipes of WWER-1000 pressurizes

Description

Character of corrosion processes in the presence of reactor water in the gap of two dissimilar steels (22K and 08Kh18N10T) at medium temperatures of 350, 80 and 20 deg C and 18 MPa pressure is studied. Results of experiments have shown that long-term (up to 2200 hours) presence of reactor water in the gap does not cause considerable crevice and pitting corrosion. It means that leakages of welded joint resulting in the first-circuit medium ingress into the gap of connecting pipes of WWER-1000 pressurizes does not decrease their service behaviour
