Description

Two-beam charged particles acceleration scheme on a plasma waveguide is considered. According to this scheme a high-current electron beam excites intense plasma waves which, in their turn, accelerate charged particles of other beam. It is demonstrated that plasma wave field inhomogeneity across the plasma waveguide can be efficiently employed to create all the necessary preconditions for charged particle acceleration. Design parameters of such an accelerating facility are estimated. copyright 1995 American Institute of Physics
