Xeroradiographic field controls by the telecobalt unit in the thoracic, abdominal, and pelvic region and in the extremities
Description
After having modified the method of direct field control by the telecobalt unit for the cranial region and the neck, it has been possible to effect these controls for the thoracic, abdominal, and pelvic region, too. If two sources of radiation are used, it is decisive to over with lead the zones of penumbra on the field limits. The technology of direct field control and the advantages for planning and control of the radiation therapy are described. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Nach Modifizierung des Verfahrens zur direkten Feldkontrolle am Telekobaltgeraet im Schaedel-Halsbereich ist es gelungen, diese Kontrollen auch im Thorax-, Abdomen- und Beckenbereich durchzufuehren. Entscheidend ist, dass bei Anwendung der Doppelbelichtung der Halbschatten an den Feldgrenzen durch Blei abgedeckt wird. Die Technik der direkten Feldkontrolle wird beschrieben. Auch die Vorteile fuer die Bestrahlungsplanung und -Kontrolle werden dargestellt. (orig.)Additional details
