Integrated processing for the treatment of materials applied to thermal compression of hydrogen

Description

In this work, AB5 intermetallics are synthesized by low energy mechanical alloying according to: AB5 + AB5 = AB5. The obtained intermetallics are annealed at 600 oC to optimize both the microstructural and hydrogen sorption properties. Then, the material is applied to the design of schemes for thermal compression of hydrogen (TCH). These results are obtained within the frame of a research project related to Energy and Environment and focused on the replacement on fossil supply systems by a hydrogen based one.

Abstract (Spanish)

En este trabajo, se sintetizan intermetalicos tipo AB5 por molienda reactiva de baja energia de acuerdo a la siguiente reaccion: AB5 + AB5 = AB5. Los intermetalicos obtenidos son recocidos a 600 oC para optimizar las propiedades microstructurales y de sorcion de hidrogeno. El material asi acondicionado es luego aplicado en el diseno de esquemas de compresion termica de hidrogeno (CTH). Estos resultados estan descriptos en el marco de una linea de investigacion relacionada con Energia y Medio Ambiente consistente en el reemplazo de sistemas basados en combustibles fosiles por uno basado en hidrogeno.
