Description
The static qq-bar potential V(R) and deconfinement temperature θ/sub c/ of the recently proposed Weyl-invariant rigid-string models are calculated in the limit d→∞, in a saddle-point approximation. A comparison of our results with those for the Nambu-Goto string and Polyakov's smooth string is made
