Strength of NbC-NbB2 sintered composites
- 1. Leningradskij Tekhnologicheskij Inst. (USSR)
Description
A dependence of NbC-NbB2 compound strength on composition and temperature is under study. It is shown that compounds with niobium diboride mass content of 30-50% posses high strength characteristics within the 300-2200 K temperature range, that is connected with its isostructural characteristics - low porosity, fineness of grains. The finie grain structure of such materials provides the ''structural plasticity'' effect development, peculiar for the models of ''rough conglomerate'' eutectics
