Description

The expansion of the agricultural lands in Argentina has caused changes in land use on sensitive socio-ecological systems that becomes a priority for territory planning. The aim of this paper was to define criteria to characterize and diagnose the main actors and processes involved in the conformation and dynamics of Diamante Jurisdiction (Entre Rios, Argentina). It had as stages, a delimitation of the study area to define an area that includes the capacity / potential of the territory and the environment in which it is placed, the characterization of the study area by identifying subsystems (environmental, social, economic and legal and institutional) and indicator variables of the territorial system, the diagnosis of the territory, including the identification of territorial elements of interest, a review of current regulations for each subsystem and a prospective and purposeful phases for land management. Some considerations are: the department Diamante represents a complex system, with subsystems that interact each other, differentiating between two sectors highland and islands sectors, each with an apparent conformation and dynamics. It is possible to delimited zones for the department from the systematic mapping and data useful to land management.
