Photochemical transformations of diphenyliodonium salt in matrix of anthracene-containing copolymers

Description

Photolysis of trifluoromethanesulfonate of diphenyliodonium in matrices of the polymers, anthracene chromofores being connected to their chains, has been studied. The samples were irradiated by light with 365 nm wave length and 50 mJ/cm2 exposure dose. Benzene, iodobenzene and trace amounts of 2-iodobiphenyl were discovered among the photolysis products. Photolysis of iodonium salt in the film is shown to be accompanied by simultaneously occurring reactions of photodimerization and oxidation, when the salt is exposed to the air. In case of irradiation in inert atmosphere the by-processes have not been practically observed. 9 refs
