Stability of compensated electron beam in electron beam cooling experiments
Description
Stability of a compensated electron beam in electron cooling facilities is investigated. The region of stability of the electron beam neutralized by residual gas ions is found. Properties of ion stationary state of ions are discussed, transverse longitudinal oscillations and longitudinal transverse instability of the beam are investigated. Numerical estimations are compared with the experimental results. 28 refs.; 4 figs
