Studies on dynamical diffraction phenomena of neutrons using wave fan and total reflection properties
Description
Four studies are described of dynamical diffraction phenomena of neutrons in which the properties of wave fan and total reflection are used. (1) The Bragg case rocking curves from the front and back surfaces of a plane-parallel plate have been observed for plane-wave incidence, the conditions for which were provided by selecting a part of the wave fan. (2) A method of confining neutrons for a finite time in a closed orbit by making total reflections consecutively in several crystals is proposed. (3) A method of measuring a minute deviated angle of the beam by using the action of angular amplification of the wave fan has been attempted. (4) A two-component interferometer has been constructed in which the spreading of wave fields in the wave fan is utilized for making two coherent beam paths. (UK)
