Visual investigations of temperature on outer wall narrow rectangular channel with longitudinal vortex

Description

Four pairs of rectangular block as longitudinal vortex generators (LVG) are mounted periodically in a narrow rectangular channel. The infrared thermal imaging method is used to measure the temperature on the heating plate in this channel. The results show that LV which has certain effective distance and relative intensity induces quasi-periodic process of temperature descending and ascending alternately by means of reconstructing temperature field, and improves the whole convective heat transfer in the channel. The conclusions can be used to explain the heat transfer enhancement of LV for interrelated experimental investigations (authors)
