Description
Raman spectra of the solid produced by the gas-phase reaction of I2 with O3, in the presence of water vapour, show that the product is essentially iodic acid. The spectral features of the product are sensitive to its degree of hydration. Raman spectra of freshly prepared HI03 show additional features not identified in previous studies of this compound
