A neutron diffraction analysis was made of myoglobin to determine bound water, hydrogen-bonding, and the role of hydrogen in the binding of oxygen, water, and carbon monoxide to the heme group. A description is given of alterations of the real-space program and refinement of the met myoglobin structure
