Sorting of bio-wastes at the source and methanization: facing the challenge with French cities. Local solutions handbook

In its first part, this publication addresses bio-waste sorting at the source, an issue which will soon concern everybody. It evokes: proximity composting (with a close management by inhabitants), a separated collection to valorise bio-wastes, the interesting costs of these practices, method and good practices to develop inhabitant awareness, keys for a successful sorting at the source. The example of transformation of wastes into green gas in Fontainebleau is briefly presented.
