The new UA4 ρ p anti p datum and the odderon
Description
We show that the surprising high value of the ratio of the real to the imaginary part of the forward anti p amplitude measured recently at the CERN collider, ρ p anti p = 0.24 ± 0.04, can be well described by the presence of the odderon in the crossing-odd amplitude. Several consequences of our interpretation will be testable at Tevatron energies and beyond
