Lanthanum purification by extractive crystallization

Description
Scheme of lanthanum compound purification from more heavy lanthanide impurities and coloring d-element impurities by means of extractive crystallization using tributyl phosphate and di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid is suggested. Technique of preliminary saturation of extractants by prepurified lanthanum salt was used. Purification was carried out using cross current scheme. Organic phase impurities were sorbed in the column with BAU activated carbon. Purification three stages reduce lanthanide content in product by one order. Comparison of impurity content in purified lanthanum oxide and LaO-D-type series-produced one is conducted
