Fluctuation-enhanced conductivity in YBCO-PrBCO superlattices

Description

Measurements of the electrical resistivity in YBCO-PrBCO superlattices are reported. The resistivity curves directly above Tc were analysed using various theoretical models describing weak fluctuations in layered superconductors and considering both Aslamazov-Larkin (AL) and Maki-Thompson (MT) terms. A 3D-2D crossover and strong enhancement of fluctuation-enhanced conductivity, σprime, above the crossover temperature were revealed for all samples studied. From the analysis for a typical 7x7 superlattice ξc(0)=0.14±0.01 nm and τarphi similar eq8x10-13 s are derived for the intralayer coherence length and phase-relaxation time, respectively. This implies kBTc similar eq7h/τarphi, indicating the absence of significant pair-breaking in these high-Tc superconductors. ((orig.))
