HTGR Steam Cycle/Cogeneration Design Development Plan for Nuclear Steam Supply System. Volume II. Design development plan

Description

The Design Development Program plan described in this document is a part of the overall program being undertaken by the Department of Energy (DOE), utilities, and industry to realize national benefits from the deployment of the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) utilized as the nuclear steam supply system (NSSS) for a 2240-MW(t) HTGR - steam cycle/cogeneration (HTGR-SC/C) plant. This document covers the work associated with the design of the NSSS of the HTGR-SC/C. Information is presented concerning the work breakdown structure, document tree, and design phase definitions used by GA in defining and breaking down the work to be accomplished; the constraints and assumptions which are the basis for this plan; the priority technical issues associated with the HTGR-SC/C and the plan for resolving these issues; the design data needs (DDN's) which serve as the link between the Design Development Program plan and the Technology Development Program plan; the design work to be accomplished to bring the HTGR-SC/C to reality; the project management and support effort required to plan, organize, direct, and control the program; and the program costs and schedules
