Description
The authors deal with the methodological investigations made for a pressurized water reactor's core surveillance system. The reactor core consists of hexagonal fuel assemblies. Processing of two kinds of in-core measurements is discussed: thermal assembly powers determined from thermocouple readings; the nuclear assembly power determined from self-powered neutron detector readings. The method estimates the experimental error of both types of measurements. New, advantageous trial functions are used in the radial interpolation and from the ''goodness'' of the fit they estimate the systematic error of the associated calculational model. The presented methods are applied in the VERONA core surveillance system
