Approximate calculation of the coolant flow field above the core of pressurized water reactors

Description
To calculate approximately the mass flow rate of water coolant in the region above the core of PWRs (upper plenum), two- and three-dimensional analytical solutions of the Laplace equation have been developed, which make possible an estimation of the effect of the core barrel perforated annular zone. The results of calculations in WWER-440 geometry are presented. (author)
