Results from the MUNU experiment on neutrino-electron scattering
Description
The MUNU experiment studies electron antineutrino-electron elastic scattering. The detector is a Time Projection Chamber surrounded by an anti-Compton detector. The distance between the reactor (serving as neutrino source) and detector is 18 m. The electron recoil spectrum obtained by using a visual scanning procedure is presented. The upper limit on the neutrino magnetic moment: μν < 1.0 x 10-10 μB is derived
Abstract (Russian)
Цель эксперимента MUNU - изучение упругого рассеяния электронного нейтрино-электрон. Детектор - камера с временной проекцией, окруженная анти-комптоновским детектором. Расстояние между реактором (источник нейтрино) и детектором - 18 м. Представлен спектр электронов отдачи, полученный при использовании визуальной сканирующей процедуры. Определен верхний предел магнитного момента нейтрино: μν < 1.0 x 10-10 μBAdditional details
