Gauge problems in spinor quantum electrodynamics
Description
The relationships among the different forms that spinor quantum electrodynamics takes in its different gauges is reviewed; in particular the Coulomb gauge and the generalized Lorentz gauge (e.g. Feynman, Landau, Yennie-Fried gauges) are discussed. The consequences of imposing a subsidiary condition as a constraint are studied. Operator gauge transformations are made within the Lorentz gauge and from the Lorentz to the Coulomb gauge. Theorems are proven about the relations among dynamical quantities in the various gauges. (Auth.)
