Turbines of the Leningrad metal-working plant for nuclear power engineering
Description
Main technical specifications and design features of powerful steam turbines for NPPs fabricated by the Leningrad metal-working plant are considered. It is noted that construction of high-speed maximum-power turbines has required to use as widely as possible the most precise new calculational methods involving electronic computers and to reduce norms of reserve to minimally permissible values. Further improvement in technology process including replacing the forged vessel details with those casted of an electroslag remelted metal, introduction of electron-beam welding for fabrication of diaphragms, development of cheaper and more workable titanium alloy for blades of last stages
