Nonlinear stabilization of modulation instability
Description
The process of nonlinear stabilization of modulation instability is considered. More exact dynamic equations are obtained which take into account higher order electron nonlinearities. On the basis of these equations nonlinear restrictions on the development of modulation perturbations are found which indicate that the Langmuir collapse is forbidden. A possibility for fast Langmuir solitons is shown to exist
