Main ways of development of titanium alloys for modern machine-building

Description
A review is presented on modern commercial titanium base alloys, their structures and properties. All alloys are classified according to their specific structural features, namely, the alloys constituting α-, (α+β)- and β- solid solutions; solid solution base titanium alloys with some contents of chemical compounds; the alloys based on intermetallic compounds such as TiAl, Ti3Al, TiNi, TiCr2, TiCu. A consideration is also given to the influence of various heat treatments on microstructure of alloys depending on their phase composition
