Measurements of residual austenite content in bearing steels by Moessbauer effect spectroscopy

Description

The essence of Moessbauer effect is described. The assessment of relative residual austenite content on the base of Moessbauer effect steel spectra is given. The measurements of residual austenite content in LH-15 steel by Moessbauer effect spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction are compared. The usefulness of Moessbauer effect method for industrial quality control is stated. 6 refs., 4 figs., 1 tab. (A.S.)
