Nuclear spin relaxation of cesium-133 in the molten lithium nitrate - Cesium nitrate system
Description
The spin-lattice relaxation times of cesium-133 nuclei in the molten (Li-Cs)NO/sub 3/ system have been measured as a function of composition and temperature. The relaxation rates, 1/T/sub 1/, decrease with increasing LiNO/sub 3/ concentration. The rates decrease also with increasing temperature. These results are interpreted by the quadrupolar interaction of the nuclei with the surrounding nitrate ions, which changes with composition and temperature
