Examination of solitary pulmonary nodules with PET

Description
The clinical applications and economic implications of positron emission tomography (PET) for the examination of solitary pulmonary nodules were evaluated by the Institute for Clinical PET of Fairfax, AZ, USA together with a working group of American specialists. The present report summarizes the results of this investigation under the aspect of the clinical question of whether or not PET can be used to effectively differentiate between malignant and benign processes.
