Description
Out of the over 400 nuclear power plants in operation world-wide, 77% are LWR type reactors. The paper is mainly concerned with the state of the art and technical development trends for LWR type reactors, HTGR type reactors, LMFBR type reactors and heating reactors. Cost aspects and economic efficiency aspects as well as the possible uses of nuclear power are comprehensively described. (DG)
