Oxofluorides and KXeO3F
Creators
Description
Preparation and the structure of xenon oxofluorides and K(XeO3F) salt are described. XeOF4 xenon oxyfluoride has the tendency to form complex compounds of the CsFxXeOF4, XeOF4x2SbF5 type, XeO2F2 is formed under the action of XeO3. The structure of this oxyfluoride is the trigonal bipyramid, bond angles between O-Xe-O are 105.7 grad., between F-Xe-F-174.4 grad. The third XeO3F2 xenon oxyfluoride is unstable. The K(XeO3F) salt crystals have pyramidal groups XeO3 of the same structure as XeO3 initial molecules. Xe-F bonds are not equal in length
